New Patients
During your first appointment with Dr. Chase Ellinwood, we’ll focus on getting to know you and understanding your chief concerns. Do you have any specific teeth that are bothering you? What is it that you’re looking to have done? All of this information helps us to better address the “big picture” that you call your smile.
We’ll also have a series of forms for you to complete, so we can understand how any underlying health issues or experiences may impact the future of your dental care…including individualized accommodations that may be necessary.
The Examination Process
After assessing your initial worries, Dr. Chase will complete a comprehensive exam to screen for signs of disease or aging restorations. This includes:
- A tooth by tooth periodontal examination to screen for gum disease
- Digital x-rays as necessary, to assess areas not visible during your clinical exam
- OralID™ advanced oral cancer screening on all patients
- Checking the integrity and seal of existing fillings, crowns, etc.
Planning for Treatment
Should any treatments be recommended, we can review your care plan right there. More complex cases may require coming back for a conference with Dr. Chase, after he has had time to study models of your teeth and go over a wider range of therapy options.
As we review your case, we will make sure you understand exactly what is going to happen, the number of treatments necessary, and all of the fees involved. We never want you to feel caught off guard about the services that Dr. Chase recommends.
If you’re due for a cleaning, we will reschedule you to come back and see our Registered Dental Hygienist at your earliest convenience. Patients of all ages are welcome — including young children! Call us today to schedule!
